We want you to be able to stand on your own feet one day, without our help. There is nothing more satisfying than mastering a musical instrument and our aim at Cornwall Guitar Academy (CGA) is to help you do that and have some fun along the way!
Your first FREE lesson with us, without any strings attached, is really designed as an induction. This gives you the opportunity to talk about what you would like from your tuition, what personal goals you may have set for yourself and of course, this gives you and your tutor the opportunity to get to know each other right from the outset.
This first FREE lesson also will give us the chance to assess your level of playing and in turn start thinking about a plan of action that will be structured just for you.
School Based Music Tuition
CGA also teach in several schools in Cornwall and use our unique and modern teaching methods to help students get a quick grasp of what they are learning. Another important part of letting us teach your children in schools is our commitment to give them all their lessons you pay for. That means if you pay for 10 lessons, that’s what you get. If your child is off sick or on a school trip we’ll make up that lesson or we offer a money back guarantee if we can’t fulfil that promise. That’s because we want you to get good value for money.
We shy away from teaching large groups and try to keep our groups smaller so students can get the best out of their lesson. Primary children we teach also love our guitar/ukulele medals. These complimentary awards come with a laminated certificate and are presented to our students at school assemblies.
CGA is also a registered provider with Cornwall Music Education Hub. Our managing tutor John Bruce is are able to teach whole classes the ukulele or guitar. He has done this in several schools in Cornwall and helped hundreds of children to learn an instrument. This is available as a free grant paid for by the Hub and a wonderful way of bonding the teacher with their pupils musically. Sadly there are so many schools that don’t use this wonderful opportunity set up by CMEH. We are also able to give our students Hub funded lessons to those who qualify; another great reason to have lessons with us. John is also an RGT@LCM approved guitar tutor and has helped countless students pass their guitar exams ranging from preliminary grade right through to grade 8. John’s exam candidates have scored as much as 96% and most achieve 90% distinctions and 10% merits and one pass. John is an experienced RGT@LCM tutor and knows how to help get his students top results the results prove it.
